RE-ACT Workshop

2025 RE-ACT calendar

We are thrilled to unveil an intense and exciting 2025 RE-ACT calendar, rich of activities designed specifically for the professionals coming from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

FIRST CUT LAB RE-ACT 2025

First Cut Lab RE-ACT is a comprehensive consultancy & training program designed for feature films in editing phase from Croatia, Friuli Venezia Giulia (IT), Serbia and Slovenia. Films can be fiction or documentaries.

The selected teams (director/producer/editor) are offered a creative framework, both protective & challenging, to open up and explore new artistic perspectives for their films. Participants receive expert feedback on their rough cut from three international film industry advisors, as well as tailor-made advice from a consultant editor. They are also provided with a memo report that can serve as guidance for further editing.

Editor consultants & Industry advisors will be defined according to the profiles of the films selected.
Editor consultants will include top notch editors Benjamin Mirguet, Catalin Cristutiu, Agnieszka Glinska or Maya Maffioli.

An overview of regular Industry advisors of First Cut Lab can be found here: http://firstcutlab.eu/people/

First Cut Lab RE-ACT is made in cooperation and with the financial support of the RE-ACT initiative, notably allowing the absence of tuition fee for the participating projects.

The program will be held online, and each film will be workshopped within the period from May 5, 2025 to December 15, 2025.

Each film is accompanied by First Cut Lab for a period of roughly 6 weeks, even though the core of the Lab takes place over two consecutive days. The exact dates of the Lab will be chosen in agreement with each selected team to best answer the needs of their films. A preferred period for the Lab should be mentioned in the application form.

NOTE: Projects potentially interested in First Cut Lab Re-Act 2025, but that are not able to provide video material by April 15, 2025 (e.g. because the principal photography of the film is not over, or because it has not taken place yet), should still fill out the application form and apply by this deadline. If eligible, they will be contacted by First Cut Lab to agree on a specific deadline to provide their video material.
